About Peelpel

The marketplace for parking and storage — find a space or rent out yours.

What we do

In Israel there are two kinds of space that are almost always in short supply and almost always standing empty at somebody else's: parking and storage. A parking space in a building whose resident doesn't drive, a ground-floor storeroom holding empty boxes, a basement nobody goes down to. Peelpel connects the two.

The site is split into two separate channels — parking and storage — each with its own search, filters and vocabulary. A parking space is measured by the vehicle that fits in it; a storage unit is measured in metres, in height and in what you can get inside it. Mixing the two makes a search that works well for neither, so they are not mixed.

The exact address is private

A listing on Peelpel shows a city and an area, not a street and a house number. This is not a design choice but a restriction in the database: permission to read the exact-address and internal-location columns has been withdrawn from every visitor and every signed-in user. They are handed over through one separate route, which first checks who is asking.

In practice: even if someone bypasses the interface and calls the API directly, the address will not come back to them. It is not hidden by the design — it is not sent.

Every listing is checked by hand

A host cannot publish their own listing. A submitted listing enters a review queue, and only an admin account can move it to “published”. This too is enforced by the database, not the interface: an attempt to publish directly is rejected with an error.

  • A listing needs at least three real photos of the space.
  • A listing needs a real price for at least one rental unit.
  • A rejected listing goes back to the host with a written reason, rather than quietly disappearing.
  • Every status change is recorded in a log that cannot be edited or deleted through it.

What you can do here

You can search for a space, rent and pay, chat with the host and get notifications. A review can only be written about a rental that was paid for, so every rating shown comes from someone who actually rented the space: a number with no real data behind it does not appear on Peelpel.
