Finding parking
How to look for a parking space, what the tariffs mean, and how long you can park.
In this topic
Tariffs: hour, day, month
Parking is priced by the hour, by the day or by the month. The host chooses which of those tariffs they offer, and does not have to offer all three.
You can only book a tariff the host both offers and has priced. A tariff with no price is not offered for booking.
The duration is measured in units of the tariff you chose. The same space can come out cheaper on another tariff, so it is worth comparing before you book.
Immediate parking
Some spaces are marked "available now". The mark means the host states it is free at this moment, so you can enter it straight away.
The mark has nothing to do with approval, because there is no approval: no booking waits for the host's answer, including on a space that is not marked. For every space the rental starts the moment the payment goes through; the mark only says the host states the space is free right now.
You can filter the search to show only spaces marked available now.
The mark is live: the host turns it on and off according to what is free right now, without the listing being reviewed again. It is their statement, not a check by Peelpel.
How long you can park
The host sets a minimum and a maximum duration. A booking shorter than the minimum or longer than the maximum is refused, and the screen tells you so before you book.
There is no open-ended parking that you pay for at the end. You choose the duration when you book — a number of hours, days or months — and pay for it then.
There is no booking for a future date: the rental starts the moment the payment goes through. An hour is 60 minutes, a day is exactly 24 hours, and a month is a calendar month from the start.
What the search shows
The search shows only listings that have been approved and published. A listing that is a draft, under review, paused or archived does not appear to anyone but its owner.
If you chose dates, the results already filter out spaces that are taken at that time, and also ones the host's rules do not allow you to book — too short, too long, booked too soon or too far ahead.
You can search by city or by distance from a point on the map. The distance is measured against the grid-snapped pin, so it is an approximation and not a measurement to the door.
You can search without an account. Saving a search or saving a listing to your favourites require signing in.
What a parking listing states
A parking listing states whether the space is covered and whether access to it is independent — that is, whether you come and go without coordinating with anyone.
If there is a charging point, the listing states its power and the connector type. It is worth checking that the connector fits your vehicle.
The listing also states which vehicle types suit the space, from a motorcycle up to a lorry or a bus. A vehicle type that is not in the list is one the host has not undertaken to take.
Booking a parking space
Open the listing and choose a rate and a duration. The screen shows the amount for the period you chose before you pay, and the rental starts the moment the payment goes through.
You have to be signed in to book. You cannot book your own listing.
The moment the payment goes through, the booking exists and the space is yours for that period. There is nothing to approve with the host and no answer to wait for.
Straight afterwards the exact address opens in the conversation with the host, and you can arrange entry with them.
The same times cannot be booked twice. The same space at another time can be booked without limit.
Where the parking space actually is
Before you book, the listing shows the city and the area only. The map pin is snapped to a grid of about 300 metres, so it marks a surrounding area and not a building.
After the payment goes through, the street, the house number, the exact location inside the property and the host's phone number open. All of these appear in the conversation about this listing.
If something at the place does not match what the listing says, it is worth saying so in the conversation straight away, so there is a record.
